It was a slower month last month for planned new construction and renovations in Quinte West than in April of last year.
In April 46 permits were issued with a value of $14.4 million, down from 67 permits and almost $26 million in April of 2022.
The big difference was a permit issued last year worth $17 million for an addition to Deca Cables in Trenton.
Of note for last month, a $6.5 million permit was issued for a planned addition to the Quinte Custom Foods plant, formerly Nestle in Trenton.
Meanwhile year-to-date 179 permits have been taken out in Quinte West valued at $63.1 million compared to 214 permits worth about $12 million less in the first four months of last year.
As far as residential construction, so far this year 33 permits have been issued for single family homes.
