Last month would have been about the same as April of last year when it came to plans for new construction and renovations in the City of Belleville except for one project.
Last month the city issued 33 building permits for a construction value of almost $7 million.
In April of 2022 the construction value of permits was much higher at $23.5 million. That was due to just one permit being issued for the demolition/renovation of St. Joseph Catholic School which was valued at close to $17 million.
Meanwhile for the first four months of this year, Belleville’s Building Department has issed 155 permits valued at $40.8 million.
Twenty-nine of those permits were for single family homes.
