Nine people are facing drug-related charges after police executed a search warrant in Trenton.
Quinte West OPP, the OPP Street Crime Unit and OPP Emergency Response Team searched a home Wednesday morning, seizing a substantial amount of cocaine and prescription drugs.
Police say they executed a search warrant at a home on Marmora Street as part of the investigation.
Suspected cocaine, hydromorphone and cash were seized.
The following were charged.
Thirty-year-old Shawn Chambers Jr. of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Fail to comply with probation order – 2 counts
- Failure to comply with release order – 3 counts
Thirty-seven-year-old Aaron Gray of Trenton was charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtained by crime under $5000
- Fail to comply with probation order
Forty-year-old Darlene Butt of Trenton, 31-year-old Joey Chambers of Trenton, 55-year-old Laura Chambers of Trenton, 53-year-old Shawn Chambers Sr. of Trenton, 45-year-old Tanya Cooper of Trenton, 44-year-old David MacDonald of Belleville and 38-year-old David Young of Trenton were all charged with the following:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking – Opioid
- Possession of property obtaine d by crime under $5000
Shawn Chambers Jr. was held in custody pending a bail hearing. The other eight were released from custody and scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on May 29.
