Loyalist College has introduced a new technology-based learning environment on campus.
The college says the future-focused skills and experiences for the workforce, called FailSafe, is a technology-based learning environment.
FailSafe provides students, industry and community partners access to state-of-the-art equipment in a supportive environment where they can experiment and create using emerging technologies.
Loyalist College President and CEO Mark Kirkpatrick says, “Loyalist’s student-centred and supportive learning environment ensures learners progress through their programs and develop new skills while feeling confident about the network of educators and industry experts behind them.
Kirkpatrick adds, “Emerging technologies continue to reshape industry practices and create exciting new careers.
“As Loyalist completes capital renovations and facility upgrades, we are building opportunities for students, local businesses and community members to access cutting-edge equipment.”
“In engineering, a fail-safe is a design feature that prevents damage in the event of failure. We named this new learning environment on campus the ‘FailSafe’ because it’s designed to be a safe space for students to test their limits and innovate – without the fear of failure holding them back.”
At a recent event, guests had an opportunity to view an array of technology including 30 printers, CO2 lasers/cutters engravers, recording booths, PC gaming stations, and design computers.
