The Belleville Senators defeated the Rochester Americans 7-4 on Friday night.
Cole Cassels, Egor Sokolov, Roby Jarventie, Angus Crookshank, and Roarke Chartier all scored for the Senators, with Chartier claiming a hat trick.
The Americans took an early lead just two minutes into the first frame, and extended their lead to 2-0 later in the frame before the Senators could get on the board. The Senators started a comeback before the end of the first period, quickly gaining three goals and taking the lead.
The Americans scored a third goal in the second fame, and then a fourth to get back in the lead.
The Americans’ lead didn’t survive the final frame, however, as four goals from the Senators left them in the dust.
Interim Head Coach David Bell was concerned about the start of the game, but happy with the end result.
“Not the start we would have liked to have, but they’ve been resilient all year, and again they pulled together,” said Bell.
The Senators are back in action Saturday afternoon, visiting the Toronto Marlies at 4 p.m.
