Summer in the Downtown District continues to evolve.
This year, and for the first time, there will be weekend street closures in Downtown Belleville.
From June 23 to September 10 both lanes of Front Street between Victoria Avenue and Campbell Street will be closed Friday evening to Monday morning.
The closures will allow people to enjoy the signature downtown events like Jazz Festival, Downtown @ Dusk, and the fourth season of Al Fresco as well as some new and unique events.
Downtown BIA Executive Director Danielle Hanoman says they hope the street closures and patio and parklet spaces will add even more economic growth to the downtown area.
