The Picton Pirates desperately needed a win in Game 3 of their Junior C Tod Division final against Port Hope.
And thanks to a four goal second period and a balanced offence they got it.
Seven different Pirates scored goals as Picton pounded Port Hope 7-2 to get back into their best of seven series.
Nick Kirby and Carter McKee led the way with a goal and two assists.
The Panthers hold a 2-1 lead in the series. Game 4 is in Port Hope Wednesday night.
Home (not so) Sweet home
Home ice hasn’t been any advantage yet in the OJHL’s South-East Conference final.
The Golden Hawks were 3-1 winners in Wellington. The Dukes were 4-1 winners in Trenton.
That leads us to Game 3 in the best of seven series tonight (Monday) at Lehigh Arena in the County.
Game time is 7:30.
In the OJHL’s North-West final the Collingwood Blues lead the Burlington Cougars two games to none.
The winners of these two series meet in the final for the Frank L. Buckland Cup and the right to advance to the National Centennial Cup championship tournament in Portage la Prairie Manitoba.
