The City of Quinte West will be considering a set of proposed fee increases as part of its approved budget for 2023.
The city says the proposed fee increases will help generate revenue in order to limit this year’s total tax increase.
The fees considered for an increase include the following:

Arena, marina, parks and open spaces rental fees to increase by 5%.

Curb cut base fee to change from $250 to $400, and per lineal foot cost to change from $60 to $150.

Culvert installation fee to change from $2,100 to $3,500, plus time and materials.

Entrance permit fee to change from $200 to $550.

Garbage bag tag fee to change from $2.50 to $3 per tag.

Right of way individual permit fee to change from $130 to $500.

Right of way street block permit fee of $3,000.

Site alteration fee to change from $105 to $1,000 (site < 2.0 ha) and $370 to $3,500 (site > 2.0 ha).
Increasing these fees is expected to generate $400,000 in revenue according to the City of Quinte West.
The fee increases will be addressed at the council meeting set for April 5.
If approved, the increases will take effect the next day on April 6.
