Correctional Service Canada has announced that the Collins Bay Institution as well as the Henry Traill Community Correctional Centre are closed to the public until further notice as a shooting investigation continues in the area.
Kingston police say the shooting took place in the area of Bath Road and Centennial Drive.
They are looking for a suspect vehicle described as a grey Honda Civic which was occupied by “several armed black males.”
The vehicle was last seen fleeing the scene heading north on Centennial Drive from Bath Road.
If the vehicle is seen, the public is asked to not approach and to contact 911 immediately.
