Firefighters from Quinte West’s Frankford and Batawa halls were busy Wednesday afternoon.
At 1:30 crews responded to a barn fire on Harrington Road.
A short circuit in a container used to water cattle caused a small fire which was put out quickly by both
the farmer and firefighters. Damage was minimal.
And at 4:30 there was a report of a barn fire on Johnstown Road. Upon arrival firefighters found a
tractor inside a steel-sided barn up in flames. That fire was also put out quickly.
There were no injuries in either incident.
