A second person is facing charges in a shooting investigation in Marmora and Lake, from this past October.
On October 2, 2022, Central Hastings OPP received several weapons complaints, advising they heard gunshots go off around Lajoie Road in the early morning hours.
The Emergency Response and Canine Unit charged
Twenty-five-year-old Damian Shelley-Gaston of Deseronto with:
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm – two counts
- Possession of Firearm/Ammunition
- Discharge Firearm with Intent
- Careless Use of a Firearm
- Fail to Comply with Probation Order
- Possession of Schedule 1 Substance – Methamphetamine – two counts
Officers have now laid charges against 39-year-old Christine Landry of Deseronto with:
· Careless Use of a Firearm
· Discharge Firearm with Intent
· Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
· Possession of a Loaded or Restricted Firearm
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on March 16, 2023.
