A Belleville city councillor wants the local construction industry to pick up the pace when it come to new residential units.
At Monday’s council meeting Paul Carr said just four new residential building permits had been issued in January and February and that was not enough.
“We need the development and the construction industry now to deliver on the things that we have approved here.”
Carr said the city’s planning advisory committee and council are not responsible for delaying new housing construction as zoning changes for hundreds of new residential units had been approved just recently.
