Docs by the Bay has announced it has recruited another family doctor to the Quinte West and Brighton areas.
Dr. Peter Stryde has signed agreements with the City of Quinte West and the Municipality of Brighton to practise family medicine out of Trenton starting in the next few weeks.
Dr. Stryde is initially from Newfoundland and Labrador, receiving his undergraduate education and medical training at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
He explained his reasoning for moving to the area.
“Prior to moving to this area, I had been practising family medicine for eight years in rural Newfoundland. As the years went on, being separated from family in Ontario became more challenging and was further magnified because of the pandemic. It was at this time that my wife and I decided to search out a location that was within a reasonable proximity to our family, and that would provide the same working and living conditions that we enjoy,” Dr. Stryde says in a release.
“Once we settled upon the Quinte West region, we began communicating with medical recruiters and colleagues about what the area had to offer. I appreciate the support I have received from both recruiters and colleagues through my relocation and as I prepare to begin my family medicine practice in Quinte West. I am particularly happy to be opening a medical clinic in an under-serviced region so that I can assist in providing access to care for some of the many unattached patients in the area.”
Patients will be contacted directly by Health Care Connect regarding registration.
All patients will be seen at the Trenton clinic located at 64 Ontario Street – Unit 1.
