Belleville Police Service responded to 193 calls for service in the 72-hour period from 5 a.m. on March 3, 2023 to 5 a.m. on March 6, 2023.
Warrants
On March 3, 2023 at 7:0 p.m., police stopped a vehicle as the driver was suspended. The male was identified as 43-year-old Robert Wilson of Carrying Place. Further checks revealed that he was wanted for breaching his probation order. He was subsequently arrested and released with a first appearance date of the April 13, 2023.
Theft
On March 5, 2023 at 8:40 p.m., Belleville police received a call to a Bell Boulevard business regarding a theft. On arrival police were advised that a male had entered the store and stolen an item. The male attempted to flee the store, but gave up and waited for police to arrive. When police arrived, they identified the male as 32-year-old Josh Lemche of Belleville who also had outstanding warrants for theft under $5000 and failing to appear in court. Lemche was arrested and held in custody for a bail hearing on March 6, 2023.
Impaired driver
On March 5, 2023 at 10 p.m., police received a call to a Bell Boulevard restaurant regarding an intoxicated male trying to leave in a vehicle. The male had left prior to police arrival, however, police located the vehicle on North Front Street. After a brief investigation, the driver was arrested for impaired driving. Thirty-one-year-old Trevor Urch of Belleville was transported to Belleville Police Service to provide breath samples, but he refused. Urch was charged with impaired driving and failing to provide a breath sample. He was later released with a March 30 court date.
