It was a tragic, if not surprising end to a major search effort for a small commercial plane in a remote region in northern Ontario.
The missing Cessna 208 was located by a Cessna Skymaster aircraft belonging to the Civil Search and Rescue Association, late Saturday morning south of Chaucer Lake.
Just before noon, 8 Wing Trenton’s 424 Squadron SAR Techs parachuted into the crash scene from a Griffon helicopter and
found two people on board the missing plane without vital signs.
The plane went missing Tuesday after leaving on a short flight to Fort Hope, over 500 km north of Thunder Bay.
