The risk is continuing. That is the local public health message on COVID-19.
Hastings Prince Edward Medical Officer of Health, Dr Ethan Toumishey, told the Board of Health on Wednesday that he doesn’t see it going away anytime soon.
“We don’t see that that’s going to go away anytime. We see COVID is gong to continue in our community and it’s important that people are being aware of that. That they’re staying up-to-date on their vaccines and it’s just something we’re having to learn to live with.”
Dr. Toumishey told Quinte News that masks are important.
He says that since it is a cross-respiratory illness, masking is required in certain settings.
