The Medical Officer of Health for Hastings and Prince Edward counties is reminding people to be careful of the quality of water in private wells.
Dr. Ethan Toumishey was commenting on a report on water quality before the Hastings Prince Edward Board of Health on
Wednesday.
Wednesday.
“We recommend that people, when they’re on a private water source that they’re testing at least seasonally. Or if there’s been a change in their water quality so you know it looks different, tastes different.”
Toumishey recommends testing the water if there’s been a change in the quantity of water, for instance, if there’s been flooding in the area which might affect your water source, or a drought.
