An inmate at Warkworth Institution has been discovered dead.
Corrections officials say Eric Amaral died at the prison Monday February 27, 2023.
Amaral, who was in his mid-30s, was serving a sentence for second degree murder, assault causing bodily harm, and pointing a firearm.
He had been in custody since April of 2017.
He plead guilty to the killing of a man with a crossbow in Kitchener in 2015.
The cause of Amaral’s death has not been released at this time.
