The Central Hastings OPP is requesting the public’s assistance in relation to a theft of bell line containing copper wire that occurred around 11:00 p.m. on February 24, 2023. The line was cut directly from a pole on the west side of Highway 62 approximately 1.5 km north of Riggs/Mill Rd. and 1.5 km south of Hazzards Rd in the Township of Madoc.
A Central Hasting OPP scene of crime officer attended and collected evidence for further examination. The investigation revealed the total repair cost is expected to exceed $10,000.
