The Trenton Golden Hawks beat the Cobourg Cougars 4-2.
Jordan Fuller, Mitch Lafay, Adam OMarra, and Sam Williamson scored for the Golden Hawks.
The Golden Hawks started with a lightning fast goal in under three minutes, but the Cougars came back late in the first frame to tie the game. The Golden Hawks pulled ahead again in the second, scoring two unanswered goals. The Cougars tried to come back with a goal in the third, but the Golden Hawks took one more to keep a commanding lead and win the game.
Meanwhile, the Wellington Dukes slipped past the Lindsay Muskies 3-2.
Corbin Roach, Jacob Vreugdenhill, and Edward Moskowitz scored for the Dukes.
Neither team scored in the deadlocked first period, but the Dukes took first blood late in the second period. Lindsay came back to tie the game in the third period, but the Dukes retaliated with two more goals of their own. The Muskies tried to come back and scored again, but couldn’t tie the game, letting the Dukes claim victory.
