Stirling-Rawdon council has given the nod to the second lowest bidder for rehabilitation work on a bridge just north of the village.
Bonnechere Excavating of Renfrew was selected to do upgrades to the Cooney Flats Bridge on Highway 14 after bidding $842,000 on the job.
The lowest tender was $50,000 lower but engineering consultants believed Bonnechere Excavating would be the best choice because of its experience with similar projects in the area and council agreed.
