Hastings County staff, including members of council, using their own vehicles for work-related trips will be receiving more for mileage.
The Finance, Property and Personnel Committee approved the increase at its meeting on Tuesday aligning rates with what the Federal Government has approved.
The rates are increasing by $0.07 per kilometre to $0.68 for the first 5,000 km and $0.62 for each additional kilometre.
It’s anticipated the change will cost Hastings County about $15,000 this year.
The matter still needs final approval from Hastings County Council which meets Thursday.
