It appears that a buyers’ market continues in the Quinte area.
The number of homes sold last month in the region was 142, down 47% from January of 2022.
The average price of a house sold was just under $600,000, down over 19%.
The MLS Home Price Index is seen as the most accurate way to track home prices and it shows the benchmark price sitting at close to $531,000 in January, a drop of 16% from the same month last year.
President of the Quinte and District Association of Realtors Natasha Huizinga says the supply of homes for sale is up while prices are trending down, making it a good time for buyers to step into the market.
