A Carrying Place woman has pleaded guilty for aggravated assault in an incident at the Quinte Detention Centre.
Twenty-two-year-old Taylor Thurston was sentenced for five and a half years in prison.
In May of 2022, Lennox and Addington OPP were called to the Quinte Detention Centre in Napanee after a serious assault took place.
A 51-year-old was transported to hospital in critical condition.
Thurston was initially charged with aggravated assault and attempt to commit murder but the latter charge was withdrawn.
She is credited for 18 months of pre-sentence custody and faces a weapons prohibition for life.
