Quinte Health’s Board of Directors received an update on the respiratory illness situation locally at its meeting Tuesday.
The number of cases of influenza seen at local hospitals has been declining in the last few weeks but experts expect another wave of “the flu” beginning in late February or early March.
Meanwhile the number of local COVID-19 infections has been increasing but Quinte Health expects to manage the increase without any serious difficulty. People are being reminded to keep their vaccinations up to date.
Local RSV illnesses have stabilized.
