Environment Canada upgraded its special weather statement for the region to a snowfall warning Tuesday afternoon as another winter storm makes its way to the region.
Snow is forecast to begin Wednesday afternoon and last into Thursday, bringing 15-25 cm to the area.
It will be accompanied by some gusty winds.
Expect reduced visibility and rapidly accumulating snow to make travel difficult.

Snowfall warning in effect for:
- Belleville – Quinte West – Eastern Northumberland County
- Cobourg – Colborne – Western Northumberland County
Significant snowfall with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm expected Wednesday into Thursday.
Hazards:
Total snowfall accumulations 15 to 20 cm.
Reduced visibility in heavy snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult.
Isolated power outages are possible.
Timing:
Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning.
Discussion:
A Texas low, tracking northeastward, is expected to bring snow to the area early Wednesday afternoon until Thursday morning. Snowfall accumulations of 15 cm are expected, with locally higher amounts of up to 20 cm likely.
Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
