A 20-year-old Quinte West woman is facing charges in a long-standing cemetery vandalism investigation.
On October 24, 2021, Quinte West OPP received a complaint that multiple headstones were spray painted at Mount Evergreen Cemetery on Stockdale Road.
There were additional complaints that headstones and property at St George’s Cemetery on 2nd Dughill Road, Mount Calvary Cemetery on Byrne Avenue, and Mount Zion Cemetery on Downs Road were also vandalized.
On Thursday, officers charged 20-year-old Megan Lee with five counts of mischief over $5,000 and two counts of mischief under $5,000.
Tuesday this week, Belleville Police announced charges against a 20-year-old woman from Stirling-Rawdon only named “Wild.”
She was charged with spray painting 600 stones at Elmwood Cemetery and St. James Cemetery in Belleville.
It is not known if the two investigations are connected.
