Brighton’s Trennt Michaud has a new skating partner but is enjoying the same success as in the past.
The 26-year-old Michaud and new pairs partner Lia Peireira won a bronze medal at the Canadian Tire Skate Canada nationals in Oshawa.
It was their first Nationals as a team after his former partner Evelyn Walsh retired last summer.
In the short time they have been together, Lia and Trennt have won Ontario Sectionals, Skate Canada Challenge, Skate Canada and then competed in their first international competition at the 54th Golden Spin of Zagreb in Sisak Croatia last month where they returned home with a Bronze metal.
They have been selected to represent Canada next month at the International Skating Union Four Continents Figure Skating Championships in Colorado Springs.
After that Michaud and Peireira are off to Japan in March for the ISU World Figure Skating Championships.
