The Sleddog Sport Association of Southern Ontario will be hosting an event at Stoco Lake Lodge in Tweed.
The event, set to take place on the 28th and 29th of January, will be on Stoco Road.
The group had asked the municipality for the ability to place snow on the road crossing.
Tweed Mayor Don DeGenova said that was approved in principle as long as the following were abided by.
“We asked Parks and Recreation Manager to go back to the organization, saying that we want to make sure that there are people with flags that are monitoring cars going back and forth,” DeGenova tells Quinte News.
“We also want to make sure that there are signs at the beginning of the road on either side, as warning that (the road) was changed.”
DeGenova also asked the Parks and Rec director about liability for the municipality.
“We wanted to check with our insurance company to make sure that we were not going to be liable if something happened even though they are carrying a $5 million liability on their own,” DeGenova said.
“So we’re checking on those things and if everything ticks off, like we said, yes, please go ahead.”
