Quinte West City Council has approved a by-law to establish a community outdoor rink policy.
As part of the policy, a new volunteer group will be established to act as an entity to oversee the community rink.
The group will be made up of at least four adult volunteers.
The Volunteer Coordinator will lead the group and act as a liaison between the city and the group.
Among the tasks for the group include flooding and maintaining the ice surface, adhering to the procedures laid out by the city, and completing a weekly inspection.
