Prince Edward County OPP is inviting residents out for coffee.
Coffee With a Cop is an opportunity to meet local OPP officers and ask questions about policing or community concerns.
Constable Aaron Miller says often, people only get to meet officers during a traffic stop or when something bad has happened.
“This is a terrific opportunity for community members to meet police and ask those questions. You know, whether they’re traffic safety, community safety or just about policing in general – how we operate, where we are, why we do what we do. Things like that in an informal setting.”
Coffee With a Cop is coming up January 18 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Beacon Bike and Brew in Picton.
Detachment Commander Staff Sergeant John Hatch is scheduled to be among the officers in attendance.
Prince Edward County OPP hope to hold more Coffee With a Cop events in the future.
