Egor Sokolov will represent the Belleville Senators at the 2023 AHL All-Star Classic next month in Laval.
This is the first All-Star selection for the 22-year-old from Yekaterinburg, Russia, who is playing in his third professional season.
Sokolov has registered 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) in 34 games with Belleville so far this season, and currently leads the team in points (35), assists (24) and power play points (19).
Sokolov has 110 career points (45 goals, 65 assists) over 133 career AHL games and is the Senators’ franchise leader in goals scored (45) and power play goals (14), and is second on the franchise record list for points (110) and assists (65).
He won a silver medal at the 2020 IIHF World Junior Championship in 2020 with team Russia.
Sokolov has played eight games in the National Hockey League, making his NHL debut with the Ottawa Senators on November 9, 2021, against the Boston Bruins.
The All-Star Classic will be held February 5 and 6 at Place Bell in Laval.
