The value of construction in Prince Edward County during December 2022 showed a drop from the same month in the previous year, 2021.
In December a total of 20 building permits were issued for a value of $2.37 million.
Construction values for December of 2021, were about four times that much at $8.98 million.
A report from Chief Building Official Andy Harrison shows that in 2022 the County issued a total of 968 permits at a value of $209.5 million.
The biggest months’ totals were May at $33 million and August at $32.5 million.
In comparison, last year there were 1,076 permits issued at a value of $186.9 million.
The work this year included single family dwellings, garages, decks and alteration work on a restaurant.
