The Hastings Prince Edward Public Health Unit says it’s reached a grim milestone in the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over 100 people have died from COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic according to the latest update to the COVID-19 dashboard.
101 people have died from COVID-19.
There were 120 new high-risk cases of COVID-19 reported in the region this week. Known active high-risk cases is at 145.
Hospitalizations have gone up. Ten people are in the hospital with COVID-19, up from six the week before. No one is in the intensive care unit.
There are six active outbreaks of COVID-19 in the region.
Hastings Prince Edward Public Health also updated its Respiratory Infection dashboard.
In its update, HPEPH reported two new cases of Influenza A. That’s down from five the week before.
There are now a total of 176 cases of Influenza A since the start of the season.
