Belleville police responded to 63 calls for service over a 24-hour period from 5 a.m. on December 28, 2022 to 5 a.m. on December 29, 2022.
Stolen Vehicle
On December 28, 2022 at 6 a.m., Belleville police were contacted regarding a Belleville city truck that was parked in a parking lot in the east end of Belleville. It was learned that the truck had been reported stolen the day before. Officers arrived on the scene and located a male inside the vehicle. The male was arrested without incident. As a result, 25-year-old Dorean Geerstma of Belleville was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5000 and three counts of failing to comply with his probation order. Geerstma was held for a bail hearing on December 28, 2022.
