High winds have already knocked power out for thousands of people across Ontario in a storm that’s wreaking havoc across Ontario and Quebec.
As of early Friday afternoon, Hydro One says more than 50,000 customers are without power across most of southern Ontario, while Hydro Ottawa says outages are currently affecting 11,500 customers.
About 30,000 customers are without power in central Ontario, with outages stretching from north of Peterborough to south of Algonquin Provincial Park.
There are several scattered local outages involving Hydro One customers.
Elexicon is reporting one small outage in Belleville as of 12:37 p.m. (Brassey St. area) but is also dealing with outages in Northumberland and Durham regions.
