The last surviving member of the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte to have served in World War II has died.
Austin Elmer Fuller passed away at Belleville General Hospital last Tuesday at the age of 101.
Fuller, born in Shannonville, served with the Hastings and Prince Edward Regiment and fought in Sicily, Italy, and finally in Holland. He served five years overseas.
Mr. Fuller is resting at the John R. Bush Funeral Home on Highland Avenue in Belleville with visitation to be held Tuesday with the funeral to follow on Wednesday at 11 in the morning.
