Quinte News spoke to the manager of the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce Suzanne Andrews about 2022.
She says the year started more slowly than they had predicted.
“I think it became really apparent that the road to recovery was going to be a long one. While some businesses came out of the pandemic really strong, others are still continuing to struggle.
On a positive note Andrews says she was really pleased with how the community came together.
She says businesses have really appreciated the support they have received from the public.
Andrews added that it could be a difficult year for business not just in Quinte West, but everywhere.
“Other challenges besides COVID. The cost of living, the inflation, the supply chain. All these other issues have really made it a struggle for many businesses. Even those that went through the pandemic and came out the other side really strong, they’re finding that that shortage of workers, the problems getting the goods they need, have continued to really challenge their operations.”
