The Wellington Dukes go into their Christmas break on the heels of a 5-1 win over the visiting Markham Royals, and with it, a share of second place in the OJHL’s South-East Conference.
Barrett Joynt scored twice for Wellington and now has 16 goals in 21 games. Corbin Roach added a goal and assist and David Campbell notched his 12th of the season and leads the Dukes with 53 points. Jack-Henry Lages rounded out the scoring.
Ethan Morrow was back in goal for Wellington following his silver medal performance at the World Junior A Hockey Challenge with Canada East. He stopped 21 shots.
The Dukes are now off until January 6.
Raiders 10 Rebels 1
In Junior C play in Campbellford the visiting Napanee Raiders overpowered the Rebels 10-1.
Nicholas Goosney and Cameron Krupa scored twice. Michael Patrick had four assists.
