The City of Belleville has announced that an overnight warming centre will be opening Thursday night at the former police station at 93 Dundas St. East.
An agreement with Hastings County for the overnight centre was approved by Belleville City Council on Monday.
The new warming centre will be open from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. seven nights a week until March 31, 2023.
It was noted by the city that the centre is meant to be for individuals trying to avoid the cold and that no beds or meals are being provided.
