An arrest has been made in connection with a murder in Belleville in July of this year.
Belleville’s Forensic Identification Unit and Drugs and Intelligence Unit have been continuing the investigation into the shooting death of 34-year-old Jesse Weekes of Quinte West that occurred around 2 a.m. July 10 2022 outside the plaza containing the Northway Restaurant on North Front Street.
On Monday, 30-year-old Jeremy David Phillip of Toronto was arrested in the Durham Region by members of the Belleville Police Service.
Phillip was charged with:
– Second Degree Murder
– Possession of a restricted firearm
– Possession of a loaded firearm
– Possession of a prohibited device
– Breach of probation x 2
Phillip was held for a show cause hearing on December 13, 2022 in Belleville.
