While October’s municipal elections are a thing of the past, Belleville City Council will see some interesting statistics at its meeting Monday afternoon.
A staff report shows a total of 15,668 voters, or just under 40%, cast a ballot for council and school board candidates, down from both the 2018 and 2014 elections.
Meanwhile, as in other communities, voting by internet proved to be very popular with almost nine out of ten people choosing to use their desktops, laptops, or phones to make their choices.
Staff say attendance at the voter assistance centres was steady but never busy.
