Quinte West council is expected to sign off on an agreement with Hastings County to provide a seven day a week warming centre at its special meeting Thursday.
Hastings County will fund and operate all of the area’s warming centres and instead of just opening them when temperatures hit minus 10 or lower they will be open starting later next week (December 15) and stay open until March 31.
Quinte West’s warming centre will be at Trenton United Church.
Last winter the centre received 284 visits over just 60 nights of operation.
