The appointment of a Deputy Mayor in Quinte West will involve some discussion at a special meeting of council tonight.
There are a minimum of two options for council to decide.
Mayor Jim Harrison is proposing that Councillor Jim Alyea be Deputy Mayor for 2023, Mike Kotsovos for 2024, David O’Neill for 2025, and finally Egerton Boyce for the last year of council’s term.
Meanwhile Councillor Shelley Stedall is proposing that the Deputy Mayor be appointed for two months only with the position rotating amongst all 12 councillors through 2026.
