Cocaine and weapons, including a 9mm handgun, were seized and two people arrested as part of a drug and firearms investigation in Campbellford.
Northumberland OPP say the investigation resulted in two search warrants being executed in Campbellford.
On December 2, members of the Peterborough/Northumberland Community Street Crime Unit, with assistance from the Tactics and Rescue Unit, the Emergency Response Team, and the Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP executed a search warrant at a residential property in Campbellford resulting in the seizure of cash, drug paraphernalia, and cocaine.
Two individuals were charged and released on undertakings.
The Peterborough/Northumberland CSCU executed a second warrant on December 3 where a loaded 9mm handgun, a prohibited knife, and a replica handgun were seized.
The two individuals were rearrested and charged on December 7.
Christine Cormier, 47, and 41-year-old Bradley Finch, both of Cramahe, each face charges of:
- Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 – in Canada
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
- Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of imitation weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Possession of Prohibited device or ammunition for Dangerous Purpose
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
- Careless storage of Firearm, Weapon, Prohibited device or ammunition
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
- Possession of a prohibited device or ammunition
The accused were being held for a bail hearing on Wednesday.
