Voters in Brighton liked voting by internet in October’s municipal election.
A staff report to Brighton council shows that over nine out of ten voters voted by internet with many of those using the election help centres walking away confident they would vote from home in the next election.
Voter turnout in Brighton was 46.7%, the highest in Northumberland County, and higher than in Belleville or Quinte West.
Only Prince Edward County had a higher voter turnout in this area, at just over 47%. Brighton municipal staff believe voter turnout will be even
higher in the 2026 election.
