Employment was little changed in November as the economy added a modest 10,000 jobs.
Statistics Canada says The unemployment rate fell slightly to 5.1 per cent.
Employment rose in several industries, including finance, insurance, real estate, rental and leasing, manufacturing and in information, culture and recreation.
It fell in construction as well as wholesale and retail trade.
The local unemployment rate was just above the national number – November’s 5.2 per cent for the Belleville Census Metropolitan area was down seven-tenths of a point from October.
The Belleville CMA includes Belleville, Quinte West, Tyendinaga/Deseronto, and Stirling-Rawdon.
