Belleville Police are investigating an extortion case involving a minor.
A young person shared intimate images on social media with someone they believed was the same age.
Once the victim decided to stop sharing the photos, the suspect threatened to share the images to a public forum, unless they continued to cooperate.
Officers are pleading with everyone to be mindful of who they share personal photos with and to educate young people of the importance of internet safety.
