For 32 years the QW Adopt a Child program has been helping children of Quinte West receive indoor clothing at Christmas.
This year is no different. What is different is the number of older children on the program.
Registration began at the beginning of November and continues to December 8 at the Crossroads Church in Trenton.
There are lots of older children on the program this year and it’s a challenge – everyone wants to buy for the younger – cuter – more affordable children – but it leaves them struggling to help the children who really know what Christmas is all about.
This year the Quinte West Adopt a Child program extended the ages they support from 12 to 14 years of age.
This means the pressure is on to help this age group who predominantly wear adult size clothes.
To adopt a child you can call Trenton Glass and Windows or email Lisatriemstra@gmail.com.
You can make a donation at Trenton Glass – Bay Marine – the DBIA or etransfer quintewestadoptachild@gmail.com.
Information is also available at qwadoptachild.ca.
Gifts need to be delivered to Trenton Glass and Windows before December 16 to ensure that families have their presents in time for Christmas.
