Pepper spray used in shoplifting
On 18 November, 2022, at 8:40pm, police received a call to a Bell Boulevard business regarding a shoplifting. Police were advised that store staff attempted to stop a male from shoplifting when they were pepper sprayed by the suspect. The suspect, described as middle aged and wearing a mask, fled the parking lot in a black Mazda 3. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service.
Stolen vehicle recovered
On 19 November, 2022, at 4:25pm, police responded to a vehicle in a ditch on Wallbridge Loyalist Road at Bell Boulevard. Police were advised the vehicle description matches that of a vehicle stolen from a local dealership in June 2022. The vehicle, a red Nissan 370Z, had a Quebec licence plate on it, and police confirmed it was the stolen vehicle. Police observed the footprints leading away from the vehicle to a nearby gas station where it was reported the suspect attended, asked for pylons, and later fled the area.
